Solder Profile for Rogers and PTFE Materials

The most common assembly error with high frequency PCB is applying a standard SAC305 lead-free reflow profile (peak 255–260°C) to PTFE substrates. Rogers RO3003 and RT5880 are PTFE-based — PTFE begins to soften above 260°C and can cause dimensional changes that shift impedance and antenna resonant frequency. Riching PCB runs modified reflow profiles for all PTFE PCB assembly, confirmed per material grade before SMT starts.
